The word "discipline" has a sour connotation... it evokes images of wooden spoons, time outs, grunt work, and worse. So how did we get that from the excitement and curiosity of the word "disciple?" According to Richard Foster in his book Celebration of Discipline, "God intends the Disciplines of the spiritual life to be for ordinary human beings: people who have jobs, who care for children, who wash dishes and mow lawns." He goes on to say, "Joy is the keynote of all the Disciplines." yeah... right. Join this group to find out what's so delightful about the disciplines.

For many people, the trinity is either an abstract doctrine or a confusing math problem in which we try to make 1+1+1=1. In either case, we often avoid thinking or talking about it for fear of getting it wrong. But it doesn't have to be this way. The trinity is at the heart of the Christian faith, and properly understood, it is a beautiful, life-giving, and life-changing reality. In this group, we'll be journeying through Delighting in the Trinity by Michael Reeves. It's an engaging, accessible, and profound book that will leave you excited, not scared, of the trinity. Whether you're a theology nerd (like Austin) or intimidated by theology (like Eliza), this group is for you.

The author of The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry calls us to rediscover the path that leads to a deeper life with God. “One of the most important books I have read in a decade . . . If we would all follow in this way, our lives would change and the world would change.”—Jennie Allen, author of Get Out of Your Head and Find Your People. We are constantly being formed by the world around us. To be formed by Jesus will require us to become his apprentice. To live by what the first Christian disciples called a Rule of Life—a set of practices and relational rhythms that slow us down and open up space in our daily lives for God to do what only God can do—transform the deepest parts of us to become like him. This introduction to spiritual formation is full of John Mark Comer’s trademark mix of theological substance and cultural insight as well as practical wisdom on developing your own Rule of Life.

Men, in the battle for your integrity, your values, your marriage, your family, and your impact in life, there is no more formidable warrior than you. Why? Because God specifically designed and equipped YOU to fight in the unique arena that is your life, and to do so boldly, and ultimately, when the dust settles, to do so victoriously. This group aims to encourage, challenge, and strengthen us as men to submit to Jesus, walk in integrity, take ownership of our responsibilities, and step up as men who lead with wisdom and honor. If you are ready to get off your backside, to stop being on the defensive, to get on your front foot, and to take the initiative in the battle for your family, church, and community alongside other like-minded Christian men through honest, vulnerable, Scripture-anchored conversations . . . then Welcome to the Fight. 1 Timothy 6:12, 2 Timothy 4:7
